United States President Barack Obama has invited Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to visit the US, said a senior diplomat.

According to the Dawn, the dates of the visits have not been fixed but the diplomat said that Sharif is expected to visit the U.S. towards the end of October.

The invitation by the White House has not been officially announced yet.

Sharif had last visited the U.S. in 2013, helping reset ties that had been weighed down by events of the preceding years.
