U.S. President Barack Obama will honour his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping with a 21-gun salute and a state dinner at the White House amid tensions over China's alleged cyber crime activities involving disclosure of American Government secrets.

According to The Washington Times, Xi arrived in Washington on Thursday night for a private dinner with President Obama at Blair House.

Obama and his top advisers have threatened to impose sanctions on Chinese firms indulging in such activities.

Obama said he intends to raise the issue of cyber hacking with Xi.
