President Barack Obama is reportedly under pressure to revamp his military strategy against the Islamic State (IS) terror group in the wake of the latter's recent gains in both Iraq and Syria.
According to Fox News, the White House said that no formal strategy review was under way following the capture of Ramadi by IS fighters.
IS militants have also seized the ancient Syrian site of Palmyra.
White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said that the capture of both Ramadi and Palmyra count as a "setback".
Earnest also emphasized on the fact that Obama will not support a large-scale military deployment while congressional critics stress on a major change in strategy.
