A sniffer dog was injured when a landmine exploded at Odisha's Rayagada district during a bandh called by in a protest against the encounter of 28 Maoists in Malkangiri on October 24.
The incident took place on Thursday when the police officials were carrying out a search operation in the area and in the process discovered an Improvised Explosive Device lying unguarded.
The dog was trying to locate the landmine, when it exploded causing serious injuries to him.
Maoists had called the bandh in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana and Maharashtra.
