Taxi aggregator Ola on Tuesday rubbished the 'frivolous' allegations made by its San Franciso headquartered Taxi rival Uber, saying that it was an effort to divert attention from the current realities of the market.

In a petition filed in the Delhi High Court, Uber had accused Ola of making false bookings on its platform by setting up fake rider accounts, misleading its drivers through fake calls impersonating Uber and giving other misleading information.

"All the allegations made by Uber in the plaint listed for hearing before Hon'ble High Court of Delhi are denied in their entirety and we have appraised the Court accordingly that the allegations by Uber are frivolous and false to its own knowledge," Ola said in a statement.

"As a responsible Indian corporate, we have immense respect for the law of our country and we will remain undeterred in our mission of building mobility for a billion Indians. We can only speculate that this is a counter to the contempt proceedings pending against Uber in this High Court," the statement added.

The Indian taxi aggregator also said that it was not beyond their imagination that it was an effort to divert attention from the current realities of the market where Uber has faced major setbacks, including the recent incidents of Uber vehicles being seized by the government authorities.

"We stand by our contempt petition that Uber has added and plying new diesel vehicles within Delhi in wilful and deliberate defiance of the local rules and regulations," the statement said.

In the petition, Uber has sought 'declaration, perpetual injunction and damages' against Ola. It has alleged that Ola is interfering in the business of the company.
