Olivia Wilde recently revealed that being a mom herself helped her connect with the character of the upcoming movie 'Meadowland.'

The 31-year-old said that anyone who becomes a parent, their heart expands, and they empathize on a different level, and that's what according to her was required to tell this story as it should have been told, People Magazine reported.

The American actress added that she might not have been able to play the role of Sarah without being a mother; it's actually kind of a gift of motherhood.

Wilde and fiance Jason Sudeikis welcomed their son Otis Alexander in 2014.
