The National Investigative Agency (NIA) arrested a carade of the Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) in connection with the ambush on 6th Dogra Battalion of the Indian Army.
The 22-year-old accused, identified as Moirangthem Nimaichand Meitei, hailed from Imphal.
The accused has been sent to seven days custody by a special NIA court.
Meitei was part of the team, which was involved in the ambush near Paraolen village in Chandel district of Manipur in June 2015, where 18 Army personnel were killed and 15 were injured.
