British tennis star Laura Robson has reportedly won the third round of Wimbledon on Thursday backed by the good-luck tweets from the members of the English boy band One Direction.
The teenager gained 20,000 followers after the tweets from the stars of One Direction- Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Liam Payne, with Payne suggesting renaming Wimbledon's Murray Mount as Robson Ridge in honour of the British ace, The Sun reports.
The report further said that the good wishes of the pop singers propelled Robson to a Centre Court 6-4 6-1 victory over Colombian Mariana Duque-Marino, with Robson joking that with the exception of two members of the band, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson, the other three had wished her.
Meanwhile, Robson said that she was 'wetting herself' at the reaction of One Direction fans after Harry Styles followed her on Twitter, saying that it was a hilarious moment for her when she saw numerous messages of One Direction fans asking who she was, even after following her on Twitter.
Robson further said that she believed that tennis fans would flock to the proposed Andy Murray and Serena Williams showdown.
Meanwhile the hawk, named Rufus, that patrols the skies over the courts to scare off pigeons was kitted out with a helmet yesterday to stop him killing them, the report added.
