The Bangladesh Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has detained a person, who sheltered Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen (JMB) militant Shafiul Abu Mukatil allegedly involved in four murders in the country's northern districts.
The detainee has been identified as Md Anwar Hossain, reports the Dhaka Tribune.
RAB13 Commanding Officer (CO) Mohammad Atik said that his team conducted the drive on Friday night and arrested Anwar in Gobindaganj of Gaibandha district.
The officer further said that Anwar during primary interrogation admitted that Shafiul lived at his residence.
"We are still interrogating him. We will take legal action against him," he added.
Earlier this week, the RAB detained four people, including a unit chief of banned militant outfit JMB from the militant group's training centre in Tongi of Gazipur city.
Members of the JMB have been found involved in a series of targeted killings, including the attacks on Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka and Sholakia Eid gathering in Kishoreganj.
