One killed, many injured in UP protest

At least one person was killed and many others, including policemen, injured after a large number of demonstrators blocked railway traffic near Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh .

The protests were held to demand reservation benefits.

According to reports, the police resorted to lathi charge and used tear gas shells to disperse the mob which had turned violent.
