"Opportunities for manufacturing in India are immense": PM Modi

Asserting that India wants to move further ahead in the manufacturing sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday assured the world that opportunities for manufacturing in India are immense.

"We want to move further ahead in the manufacturing sector. The opportunities for manufacturing in India are immense. We are blessed with a demographic dividend. We want India's railway sector to develop, get more technology, give speed and make it the driving force of our economy," he said.

Prime Minister Modi who inaugurated a multi-modal manufacturing facility of General Electric, congratulated the US multinational for the state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.

"I have seen how a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is today. I want to congratulate GE. I assure you that in the field of development and giving employment there are lot of opportunities here in India. I congratulate GE and assure the world that there are many opportunities in India," he said.

"On the basis of our youth and talented manpower, we want to take our economy to newer heights," he added.
