Opposition uniting to form 'unstable, corrupt govt.' in Jharkhand, says Amit Shah

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah on Wednesday lashed out at the opposition parties in Jharkhand and accused them of forming an unstable and corrupt government in the state.

"The political parties here fight the elections separately, but after the elections they unite to form an unstable and corrupt government. Do you think if Lalu, Nitish, Guruji (Shibu Soren) and Babu Lal form a government here, they will allow Prime Minister Modi to do development works here?" he asked while addressing a rally here ahead of the second phase of assembly elections.

"The development of Jharkhand is possible only when there is a BJP government in the state," he added.

Urging the people to vote for the BJP, Shah reminded them that Jharkhand was carved out of Bihar when Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the country's Prime Minister.

"Jharkhand is blessed with natural resources, this land has abundant coal and iron ore, but still the people here are poor. The reason is because Jharkhand never had a full majority government. So, I urge you to vote for the BJP and give us two-third majority in the state," he said.

The BJP president also used the occasion to taunt Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, saying the latter instead of pointing fingers towards the ruling party should reveal as to what the UPA did when it was in power at the Centre for ten years.

"Some days back 'Rahul baba' had come here, he asked as to what the BJP Government after coming to power at the Centre. 'Rahul baba' first answer what did your party do when it was in power for ten years. There were only scams like 2G scam, coal scam, and scam in purchase of defence equipments," he added.

Thanking the people of Jharkhand for supporting the BJP during the Lok Sabha elections, Shah said that his party will give a stable government to the state.

Jharkhand witnessed an impressive 62 percent voter turnout in the first phase of assembly elections yesterday. The second phase polling will be held on December 2.
