All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday slammed the BJP-PDP government in Jammu and Kashmir for not acting appropriately on the people who burnt schools in the Valley, saying the perpetrators of the act are not just the enemies of Kashmir but also of humanity and should be apprehended at the earliest.

"The BJP-PDP government has failed and the administration is collapsed. It shows that the regime has failed to handle the Valley," he said.

"Schools had been burnt. Government should take immediate actions against the persons who have done it. The civil unrest in Kashmir is going on for so many months and it shows that the BJP and the PDP have no vision for the state," he added.

"Whoever are burning the school in Kashmir are not only the enemies of Kashmir are the enemies of humanity," Owaisi told ANI here.

The Centre had last week asked the Mehbooba Mufti-led state government to check such attempts and make efforts for the reopening of schools which have been closed since July 9.

Expressing concern over the burning down of schools in the Kashmir Valley, the National Panthers Party (NPP) has called for the imposition of Governor's rule in the state, claiming that an atmosphere of complete chaos exists and needs to be quelled.

Earlier, Shafiq Mir, who was part of the 30-member delegation of an apex body representing 4,000 village panchayats of the state, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and got assurance of taking all steps to pacify the situation in Jammu and Kashmir.
