Australia has retained their control of the fifth and final Ashes Test in Sydney as they bowled out England cheaply in the first hour of the second day and took their lead to 311 runs with six wickets remaining at stumps.

Australian fast bowlers bowled perfectly to exploit the seam movement off pitch with off-spinner Nathan Lyon playing his role in bringing a 5-0 clean sweep ever closer for the hosts.

Ryan Harris, Mitchell Johnson and Peter Siddle each claimed three wickets as England were skittled for their lowest total since their first innings of the series.

The English innings hardly sustained a day, with England making 155 in their first innings on Saturday.
