Australian cricket captain Michael Clarke has reportedly backed the 'Mankad' rule, saying that he had no problem with the controversial run out rule that stained the fifth and final ODI of the five match series between England and Sri Lanka.
Clarke said that Sri Lanka's Sachithra Senanayake dismissing England's Jos Buttler as the non-striker backed up at Edgbaston was in the rules despite the Three Lions' skipper Alastair cook insisting that a 'line' had been crossed.
According to Sport24, Clarke said that at the end of the day he feels that as long as the player's warned it's obviously in the rules so one can make whatever decision he wants.
The skipper added that if an Australian player does it, he would be silly to stand there and say that no, he would never let that happen under his captaincy.
Clarke said that if something like that does happen under his captaincy he looks forward to dealing with it at the time, adding that at the end of the day it is in the rules.
