Ace Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna on Friday picked Saketh Myneni instead of veteran Leander Paes as his men's doubles partner for the upcoming Rio Olympics.

Bopanna, whose top-10 ranking in the men's doubles secured him a direct entry for the Rio Games, had the authority to nominate his partner.

The All India Tennis Association will have a selection meet on Saturday to decide the Olympic teams.

Paes, the eight-time men's doubles Grand Slam champion, had earlier expressed that he and Bopanna had been playing at a very high level and are the best team to represent the country in Rio.
