Pakistan's Chief Of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif, visited the Pakistan's Centre of Excellence for Nuclear Security (PCENS) on Friday and expressed confidence about the country's ability to safeguard its nuclear arsenal.

"Pakistan has taken measures, including setting up of the PCENS, to strengthen its nuclear security," the ISPR quoted General Sharif, as saying during his visit.

Interacting with officers and troops at the PCENS, General Sharif said nuclear security is a sacred responsibility. He praised the progress the institution has made after its establishment, reports the Dawn.

General Sharif also stated that Pakistan has also offered the PCENS as a regional and international hub for imparting education and training in the field of nuclear security to the international community.

Earlier, the army chief was received by Lieutenant General Mazhar Jamil, Director General Strategic Plans Division (DG-SPD).
