A district and session judge in Pakistan has reportedly issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against former military ruler General (retired) Pervez Musharraf in connection to the murder of former Lal Masjid cleric Ghazi Abdul Rasheed.
Judge Kamran Busharat Mufti also turned down a plea requesting complete exemption for Musharraf from appearing in the court, reports the Dawn.
Police has been directed to arrest the former president and present him in court for the next hearing of the case, which is expected to take place on July 24.
The judge also asked Musharraf's guarantors to ensure his presence in the court in the next hearing, warning that action could be taken against them and the bail money could be confiscated if they failed to do so.
Police registered a case against Musharraf in 2013 over the alleged murder of cleric Rasheed and his wife during the Lal Masjid military operation.
