The Jamaat-e-Islami will impart military training to civilians as part of its strategy to promote jihad in Pakistan and the armed forces.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Minister Sirajul Haq said that the group would instruct men and women aged between 18 and 35 years

According to the Daly Times, speaking at a news conference, Haq said that the party was not shy of supporting its commitment.

He said the JI wanted to implement its training programme because it believed that the armed forces alone could not protect the country.

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is a partner of the JI in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, the report added.
