Pakistan's Interior Minister, Chaurdhry Nisar Ali Khan, has directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to present "complete challans" of all major scams before courts within the next few weeks.
According to the Dawn, Khan issued the directive at a meeting attended by the high-ups of National Database and Registration Authority, FIA, police, passport office and senior officials of the ministry and Islamabad administration on Wednesday.
Besides reviewing progress in cases being investigated by the FIA, the minister received a briefing on the ongoing process of online registration of international non-governmental organisations.
Scams in the Employees Old Age Benefits Institution, Trade Development Authority, Evacuee Trust Property Board, New Benazir Bhutto International Airport and Pakistan State Oil as well as Haj corruption case came under review during the meeting.
The minister asked the FIA officials to fulfil all legal formalities and uphold the principle of justice while completing investigation into the cases.
Chaudhry Nisar said that no pressure would be accepted in connection with the investigation into the corruption cases and vowed to take all the cases to their logical conclusion.
