A Canadian Senator of Pakistani origin was allegedly robbed in Islamabad. The police have lodged a complaint against two unidentified men.
Salma Attaullah Jan was robbed of USD 4,200 and Rs 62,000 along with other documents in the capital on Tuesday. The Express Tribune quoted police sources as saying so on Wednesday.
"At approximately 10:20 p.m. while getting into my car at the F-6 Markaz. two persons on a motorcycle grabbed my handbag and fled with it," said the FIR.
Besides Jan, there have been other incidents of foreign nationals being robbed in Islamabad.
In January, a gang of fake police officers looted foreign nationals twice within a week. On 10 of the same month, Bruce Yang Seng was also duped by four men posing as police officlas and looted Rs. 29, 000.
