Pakistan middle-order batsman Usman Salahuddin has expressed his desire to return to the national squad following a good run in the domestic matches, claiming that he has now become a more complete and mature batsman.
The right-handed batsman has not been selected in the national squad following his unimpressive international debut in 2011 against the West Indies, where he played two ODIs, scoring just 13 runs.
Salahuddin said that his goal was to return to the Pakistan side, adding that he had become a much more complete and mature batsman and ready for the challenges of international cricket, Pak Passion reported.
Salahuddin, who believes that domestic matches are a gateway to international cricket, said that his focus was on scoring runs in domestic cricket so as to catch the attention of the selectors, who would pick him when they feel he deserve the chance, the report added.
Following his tour to the West Indies in 2011, he has scored a staggering 4632 runs in 73 matches, which includes 15 centuries and 25 half-centuries in First-Class cricket.
