Pak schools unable to fulfil security criteria not allowed to reopen post Taliban massacre

Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Mushtaq Ghani has said that the education institutions that do not have enough security arrangements will not be granted permission to reopen while the Army Public School reopens today, a month after the Taliban massacre.

The terror hit-school and other private and government educational institutions resumed today after receiving no-objection certificate (NOC) from the provincial government, reported Dawn News.

Some institutions failed to make arrangement such as installation of CCTV cameras and higher boundary walls across the campus boundaries were not given NOCs.

Police officials from various stations had inspected 1,440 schools in Peshawar for security measure in and around the schools, said senior Superintended of Police Mian Mohammad Saeed.

Out of 1,440 schools, 118 schools were issued NOCs since the rest of the school did not satisfy the security requirements, he said.
