The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has reportedly said that it is ready to hold talks with the government if certain conditions are met.
According to the Express Tribune, Taliban spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid said that the group would be willing to negotiate if the government gives a guarantee of putting forward ideal religious and intellectual leaders.
The spokesperson recommended the names of Jamiat Ulema Islam-Fazal (JUI-F) group Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and Syed Munawar Hasan, Jamaat-e-Islami's fourth elected Ameer.
The report added that the Taliban spokesperson also demanded for a fatwa to be given against killings of Muslims in Myanmar and Syria.
