Pakistan cricket captain Misbah-ul-Haq believes that his players are in good shape to perform in the upcoming World Twenty20 Championship to be held in Bangladesh from the middle of March this year.
Returning home after ending up as runners-up in the Asia Cup, Misbah said stand-out performances by Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Akmal, Fawad Alam and Shahid Afridi on wickets in Bangladesh indicated that the team can perform well in that country during the World Twenty20, which starts from March 16.
The Dawn quoted Misbah, as saying that the Pakistan cricketers were disappointed at not winning the Asia Cup final, but the morale of the team was very high and good.
In the World Twenty20, Pakistan will be pitted against India, Australia, defending champions West Indies and a qualifier.
Pakistan is one of the most successful teams in the shortest format of the game, having qualified for the inaugural World Twenty20 final in 2007, and then, winning the event in England in 2009.
