Top Pakistani intelligence officials have rejected claims that the ISI ran a special desk to handle former Al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden.
A British journalist, Carlotta Gall, made the claims in her upcoming book 'The Wrong Enemy: America in Afghanistan, 2001-2014' that then-ISI chief Lt-Gen Ahmed Shuja Pasha also knew of Osama's presence in the country.
According to Dawn News, an excerpt from the book, set to be released next month, was published in the New York Times on Wednesday.
Intelligence officials claimed that there was no truth in the New York Times story, adding that the claims were totally baseless.
The officials added that nobody in Pakistan knew about presence of Osama bin Laden.
Gall, who covered Afghanistan and Pakistan for The New York Times from 2001 to 2013, has claimed that the special desk was 'operated independently, led by an officer who handled bin Laden.
