Australian authorities have spotted two objects in the Indian Ocean that are possibly related to the search for missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott announced that Australian vessels have been searching for the missing aircraft in the southern Indian Ocean.
According to the BBC, Abbott said that the Australian Maritime Safety Authority received information based on satellite information of objects possibly related to the search.
He added that following specialist analysis of this satellite imagery, two possible objects related to the search have been identified.
Planes from Australia, New Zealand and the United States were heading to the area to try to locate the objects, officials said.
Abbott, however, added that the objects could be unrelated to the Malaysian aircraft.
According to the report, in a subsequent press conference, the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (Amsa) said the debris had been located in waters some 2,500km south-west of the Australian city of Perth.
