Vinnie Paul, co-founder and drummer of metal band Pantera, has passed away at the age of 54.
"Vincent Paul Abbott aka Vinnie Paul has passed away. Paul is best known for his work as the drummer in the bands Pantera and Hellyeah. No further details are available at this time. The family requests you please respect their privacy during this time," read a statement on the Pantera Facebook page.
Paul, along with his brother Dimebag Darrell, had formed 'Pantera' in 1981.
The American musician, songwriter and producer was a member of 'Hellyeah.'
Five days before his death, Paul's final performance took place at The Vinyl at the Hard Rock Hotel and Resort at Las Vegas.
