To make them familiar with Indian heritage and culture, various paramilitary forces are organising a National Integration Tour for students living in remote areas of Jammu and Kashmir and northeastern states.

So far, Border Security Force (BSF), Assam Rifles, Indo-Tibet Border Police (ITBP) have initiated the tour and are taking students to Delhi and other parts of the country.

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) may also plan to organise a similar tour for kids soon, a CISF official claimed.

Similarly, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) had organised the tour for kids living in Jammu and Kashmir this year.

Last week, a tour was organised by the Indo-Tibet Border Police (ITBP) and Assam Rifles where students met President Ram Nath Kovind. A group of school children and teachers from Ladakh and Manipur also visited the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The BSF has also flagged off such tours for children hailing from remote border areas of Jammu region.

BSF officials say that around 40 children, in the age group of 12 to 17 years, from humble backgrounds, have been selected and during the eight-days-long tour, children will get an opportunity to visit various monuments in Delhi and Chennai such as Marina Beach, Marundeeswarar Temple, MGR Film City and many other places.

Another group of students who reached Delhi on Thursday met Minister of State Nityanand Rai.

"Tour for students from Kumbi (district Bishnupur), Manipur is being organized by Assam Rifles to Delhi and Agra from November 8th to 28th, 2019. 24 members, including students, teaching staff and officers of Assam Rifles called on the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, in New Delhi," an official press release said.
