Defence expert Lt Gen (Retd) Raj Kadyan supported the comment made by the Union Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, where he linked the surgical strike conducted on September 29 to the teachings of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and said if Parikkar thinks that somewhere he is inspired by the teachings of RSS then he is right.

"After the Uri incident, there was a demand for surgical strikes from the entire nation. But, I don't think it has a relation with RSS. If Parikkar, who is a member of RSS, got his strength from there, then it is a right thing," Kadyan said.

"But, the demand was from the entire nation and they wanted retaliation for Uri on Pakistan. I don't think it was done due to any organization or RSS. The government did what it could to increase the morale of the country and it is a good thing," he added.

Lt Gen (Retd) Raj Kadyan said that he is not acquainted with the education of RSS and only Parikkar can state an opinion on that.

He reiterated, "If somewhere the education of RSS inspired Parikkar in the conduction of surgical strike, then he is right."

Speaking at an event in Ahmedabad, the Defence Minister said, "I came to central government as defence minister, I knew nothing. I used to wonder that a person coming from the state of Mahatma Gandhi as Prime Minister then a person of partial race from Goa as Defence minister and the surgical strike. This equation only happened because RSS teaching was the basic code but this was quite a different kind of combination.
