French club Paris Saint-Germain is ready to swoop for Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata in January, and the unsettled Spaniard will be the subject of interest when the transfer window re-opens.
According to the Mirror, after failing to land the unsettled Spaniard in the summer, the French champions have made Mata a transfer priority once the window re-opens, with wealthy president Nasser Al-Khelaifi sanctioning a 35 million pound move.
However, staying put at Stamford Bridge for next season will be the Chelsea old guard, with boss Jose Mourinho telling John Terry, Frank Lampard and Ashley Cole they are wanted, the report said.
Mata, Chelsea player of the season for the past two years, was wanted by PSG in the summer but Mourinho would not sanction any major departures so soon after his arrival, the report added.
