A new study by IDC, International Data Corporation, has revealed that sales of PCs will further go down by 6 percent overall this year.

According to CNET, PC sales fell 9.8 percent last year and the continued decline comes as consumers continue to embrace mobile devices like smartphones and tablets.

Recently, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella took the idea of a 'post PC-era' even further by declaring that this is the 'post, post PC-era'.

According to IDC shipments of 296.3 million PCs, from manufacturers to stores, not stores to consumers, against last year's shipment of 315.1 million, the report said.
