'Penny Dreadful', 'Sherlock' win big at BAFTA TV Craft Awards

Sky Atlantic's supernatural horror 'Penny Dreadful' and BBC One's detective series 'Sherlock' were the big winners at BAFTA TV Craft Awards that honors British TV talent from behind-the-scenes.

Eva Green starrer British psychological thriller came away with three BAFTAs for original music, production design and make-up and hair, whereas Benedict Cumberbatch starrer series won the sound and editing awards in the fiction category, BBC News reported.

Mackenzie Crook took home his first Bafta for comedy writing for 'Detectorists', while Sally Wainwright was awarded for Best Drama Writing for 'Happy Valley' and Marc Williamson took away the award for breakthrough talent for documentary 'The Last Chance School'.

The prestigious award show hosted by Stephen Mangan, also honored Julian Farino as the Best Fiction Director of BBC Two's fantasy-biopic 'Marvellous', while 'The Musketeers' won the costume design award and 'The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies' received an award for photography and lighting.

ITV talent show 'The X Factor's staff nabbed the entertainment craft team award, beating BBC One's 'The Voice' and 'Strictly Come Dancing'.

Hilary Briegel was honored with a special award, for her work as a vision mixer on programmes including 'Absolutely Fabulous', 'Only Fools and Horses', 'Newsnight', 'The Wimbledon Championships' and 'The Olympic Games'.
