People should vote for a party that is building India, says Sonia in Kochi

Taking on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Congress Party president Sonia Gandhi, on Saturday urged people in Kerala to vote for a change.

Addressing a rally, Gandhi said that people could either vote for a party that is building nation for 21st century or could choose a party which is imprisoned in ideology.

"People of Kerala can choose a party that is building an India for the 21st century or a party imprisoned in an ideology that has become irrelevant today. They can vote for a party that has always responded to changing circumstances creatively or one that is stuck in the dark slogans of the past," said Gandhi.

All the party functionaries were present at the rally including Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, and newly appointed state party chief V.M. Sudheeran.

Gandhi has kickstarted poll campaign in the state ahead of the general elections that are due in May.

She also slammed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), saying they believed in violence.

"They (BJP) reject this principle of non violence while we settle differences through dialogue and discussions. They settle them through brutal acts, through murder with killings," she added.
