Brian Cox recently expressed that the process which created mankind on the Earth was a fluke, so it is highly unlikely that it would have occurred again.
The English physicist believes that Earth is the only advanced technological civilization in the galaxy, stuff.co.nz reported.
Cox, who made the assertion in an episode of BBC's Human Universe, dismissed all the possibilities of alien life, despite the astronomical number of other planets found up till now.
The 46-year-old also mentioned that it was important be careful because the story of life on this planet shows that the transition from single-celled life to complex life might not have been inevitable.
Professor went on to say that the extinction of dinosaurs, believed by scientists to have been caused by a meteor impact, allowed mammals and ultimately humans to dominate the planet.
