The Press Information Bureau has launched a webpage to mark the 152nd Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, which is also celebrated as National Youth Day.
The webpage, which is linked to the PIB website, www.pib.nic.in contains rare archival photographs of Vivekananda and audio recordings of Swami Vivekananda's famous speech at the Parliament of Religions in Chicago on September 11, 1893.
The slides on the website document Swami Vivekananda's journey, in a chronological way, from early childhood days, to his meeting with Ramakrishna Parahamsa, his tour across India and the World, and his experience at the Parliament of Religions.
The page has been constructed from material obtained from the Exhibition Wing of DAVP, Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, Howrah, Advaita Ashram, Kolkata and Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi. Features on Swami Vivekananda, by eminent journalists, is also a part of the page.
