In a bizarre welcome for Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) chief N. Raghuveera, party activists tied live pigeons to rockets and lit them, killing the birds as they were roasted to death in the intense heat.

The party workers were seen stuffing the pigeons into paper cones and then tying them to the crackers with the intention of seeing the birds fly after the cracker burst, but the extreme heat killed them as they fell roasted to the ground.

According to reports, members of the NGO People For Animals and the general secretary of the Asian Wildlife Foundation Prabhu Popireddy have demanded that a case be booked against the Congress workers.
