A psychological report revealed that Paralympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius did not have a mental disorder when he killed his girlfriend as his murder trial resumed.
The prosecution said that it means that the Olympic athlete was criminally responsible for his actions when he shot his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp dead last year on Valentine's Day.
According to the BBC, the defence team has said that Pistorius was suffering from an anxiety disorder and the athlete has also denied deliberately killing Steenkamp, saying that he shot her accidentally in a state of panic after mistaking her for an intruder.
However, the prosecution said that Pistorius deliberately killed Steenkamp following an argument.
The psychological report results have been accepted by both prosecution and defence but it has not been published.
State prosecutor Gerrie Nel said that Pistorius did not suffer from a mental illness or defect that would have rendered him criminally not responsible for the offence charged.
Judge Thokozile Masipa said that she had only received it on Monday morning and so had not yet read it, the report added.
