Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal on Saturday flagged off Kathgodam-Dehradun Naini-Doon Janshatabdi Express via video conferencing from Rail Bhavan.
The new train will be providing direct connectivity between two important hill stations of Uttarakhand-- Mussoorie and Nainital. It will operate five days a week except for Thursday and Sunday, making five stops between the source and destination.
The passenger train will start its journey from Kathgodam at 5:15 in the morning and will cover a distance of 334 kilometers to reach Dehradun in 7 hours 20 minutes.
It will make a return journey on the same day, departing from Dehradun at 4:15 pm to reach back Kathgodam at 11:50 pm. Railway Board Chairman Ashwani Lohani was also present during the event.
