Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Power Piyush Goyal on Monday held a review meeting of the power sector in Jammu and Kashmir at the Sher-E-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) here.
Present during the meeting were Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, state Finance Minister Dr. Haseeb A. Drabu and state Power Minister Mohammad Ashraf Mir, as well as senior officers of different ministries.
Goyal assured all help from the Centre for the expeditious development of conventional and nonconventional energy sources in the state. The meeting also saw a joint venture agreement between NTPC and JKSPC being assigned for the development of thermal power.
Meanwhile, a memorandum of understanding between Jammu and Kashmir and JKPDD- BEE was signed to bring out energy efficiency in power transmission and distribution in the state.
