Prime Minister Narendra Modi today condoled the loss of lives in the Pune landslide here on Wednesday.
"Loss of lives in landslide in Pune district is saddening. I spoke to Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and he would be travelling to Pune to take stock of the situation," said Modi.
Earlier today a landslide occurred near Bhimashankar in Pune district and around 160 people are still feared trapped.
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) had sent seven teams for rescue operation
Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan also informed that out of the population of 715 in Ambegaon village around 44 houses were swept away and 160 people are feared trapped.
