Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated tennis ace Sania Mirza for winning the US Open Mixed Doubles title.
"Congratulations to Sania Mirza for the victory in the US Open Mixed Doubles Finals. We are very proud of the achievement," said PM Modi.he Prime Minister also congratulated Japanese tennis player Kei Nishikori for making it to the US Open Finals.
"Good news from US Open continued with Kei Nishikori's exemplary win! My best wishes to this young sportsman for the final," PM Modi added.
Yesterday, President Pranab Mukherjee had also congratulated Sania Mirza for her win.
Sania and her Brazilian teammate Bruno Soares lifted the Mixed Doubles trophy of the US Open on Friday night. The duo defeated the American-Mexican side of Abigail Spears and Santiago Gonzalez, 6-1, 2-6, 11-9.
