PM Modi deserves all compliments for implementation of OROP: Naidu

Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi deserves all the compliments for implementation of One Rank One Pension(OROP) for the ex- servicemen.

"Entire country is happy as the issue of OROP has finally been resolved which was pending for more than 40 years. PM Narendra Modi deserves all the compliments for the same," Naidu said here.

"One after another, the issues which have been pending for years has been resolved by this government. Take the issue of appointment of judicial appointment commission which was discussed for 20 years. Also ,after 40 years this government approved the LBA(Land Boundary Agreement)with Bangladesh," he added.

The government on Saturday announced the implementation of One Rank One Pension(OROP), for armed forces personnel ending a long-awaited demand of the ex-servicemen.

" The Government has taken a decision to implement One Rank One Pension(OROP). In simple terms the OROP implies that uniform pension be paid to armed forces personnel retiring in the same rank with same length of service regardless of their retirement," Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said.
