Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision on demonetisation has taken the 'hat' off from the head of Himachal Pradesh.

He described H-A-T mnemonics as the horticulture, agriculture and tourism to attack Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a rally in Dharamsala.

"Modi ji you have taken of the hat of Himachal Pradesh, Demonetisation has hampered horticulture, agriculture and tourism," he said.

Gandhi said the demonetisation step is firebombing poor people, middle class population and the farmers.

Escalating his attack on the Prime Minister, Gandhi said the former has divided India into two parts, having on one side the one percent rich and on other the middle class and poor people.

"Those who have stashed huge sums of black money don't do it only in cash, but in real estate, jewellery, etc," he added.

Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of duping the poor, honest and hardworking people to help the 50 super rich families, Gandhi on Friday alleged that the demonetisation of high-value currency was not a surgical strike on corruption, but a firebombing on India's poor.

Addressing a rally in Almora, Gandhi described demonetisation as a form of economic robbery.
