Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi must break his silence on the issues which have gripped the nation.

"The issues which are bothering the entire nation, the issues about which everyone has an opinion about, the leader of the government should speak about it," Nitish told ANI.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is visiting Bihar today for the first time after assuming office.

Seeking to kick start the BJP's poll campaign in Bihar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today launched a slew of schemes including the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) here on Saturday.

The Prime Minister, who shared the stage with Nitish Kumar, flagged off the Daniyawa-Biharsharif Railway line and the Patna-Mumbai railway line.

He also dedicated the permanent campus of Indian Institute of Technology, Patna to the nation and an incubation centre for medical electronics.
