Foreign Secretary (East) Anil Wadhva on Tuesday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be participating in the sixth Asian Leadership Conference during his visit to Korea as a part of his six-day, three nation tour.
"The prime minister would participate in the sixth Asian Leadership Conference on May 19, which is organised by the Chosunilbo group, which will also have the presence of President Park Geun-hye," said Wadhva.
"There would be a business event thereafter and there would be an Indian republic of Korea CEO forum, which also would be attended by President Park Geun-hye along with the Prime Minister and this would be followed by meeting with some of the top CEO's of the Korean companies, which are willing to invest in India or which have already in India," he said.
"There would be interaction with friends of Indian in South Korea as well. Following that there would visit to Hyundai Heavy Industries shipyard, given the fact that ship building is an important area of cooperation between the two countries, for which the prime minister would have to travel to Ulsan, from where the prime minister would depart for New Delhi," he added.
He further said that Prime Minister Modi will also be addressing an Indian community reception on the first day of his visit.
"Prime Minister will arrive in Korea on May 18. As soon as he arrives there will a wreath -laying ceremony at the Seoul National Cemetery. Thereafter, there would be an Indian community reception, where 1500 members of Indian community are expected to attend the reception," said Wadhva.
"After that there will be an official welcome ceremony, followed by bilateral talks between the two countries. It will be followed by the signing of agreements, a press statement and thereafter a banquet dinner hosted by the President Park Geun-hye in the evening," he said.
Prime Minister Modi will visit also China as part of his six-day, three nation-tour. During his trip, he will be visiting Beijing, Shanghai and Xi'an, before departing for Mongolia.
