Pune Police Commissioner Satish Mathur on Thursday that three people have been injured in the blast outside Faraskhana police station near Dagadusheth Halvai Ganesh Temple.
"One person has been hospitalized and two have received minor injuries. We are taking the matter seriously. We did not have any specific inputs. We have found the remnants of the device. We appeal the public to maintain calm. We will bring the culprit to justice. We have found out who all are injured, to whom the bike belongs and that it was stolen," said Mathur.
"The blast took place today at around 2 o'clock a blast took place off the main road 100 200 meters away from the Faraskhana police station. The bomb was placed on a stolen bicycle. Some small bearings and nails were fond in our forensic report. It appears to be a low intensity blast. We are investigating the matter. It has to be an IED to have a blast," he added.
Reportedly, Maharashtra anti-terrorism squad was also present at the incident site.
