The Delhi Police crime branch has recently arrested a Nepalese man for running brothels and human trafficking in national capital's Garstin Bastion (G.B) Road.
Damodar Pandey alias Makkhan, was arrested on October 18.
The 38-year-old was working as manager in a brothel owned by Afaq Hussain and his wife Saira Begum, who were arrested in August.
The arrested had an unchecked run as trafficking kingpins for the past 17 years.
They were later booked under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA).
Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Anand Kumar Mishra arrested Pandey at NPL Parade Ground, Kingsway Camp in the capital.
"During sustained interrogation of the accused, it is revealed that he is an active member of the syndicate. He used to be the Manager of Kotha No. 64 G.B. Road, Delhi. He used to collect money from the customers and give it to Afaq Hussain and Saira Begum, who are the owners of the Kotha. He used to manage all the day to day activities of the Kotha and kept watch on the activities of "nayikas" and the victim girls," the police said in an official statement.
The accused has been booked under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), 1999 and further investigation is currently underway.
Pandey was introduced to Hussain by his elder brother Ramesh Pandey, who worked as a driver with the accused couple and was working as a Kotha manager for the last 6 years.
