Former Australian skipper Ricky Ponting has expressed his desire to coach the Australian cricket team, saying he will be pleased to opt for the role but not before three years.
The 41-year-old, who will lead Mumbai Indians for the second time in the Indian Premier League, said that it would be fun to work with the current crop of players in the team, Sport24 reported.
Ponting said he leaves no stone unturned to being involved in cricket, adding that he had always tried to figure out ways to be a better player or coach.
The former right-handed batsman, who will also be indulged in this season's Big Bash Commentary, insisted he is looking forward to improve himself as a coach this year so as to guide the players in the right direction in the coming future.
The ninth edition of the IPL is slated to be held from Saturday, when Mumbai Indians take on new team Rising Pune in their opening match at the Wankhede Stadium.
