A pair of french fries lovers have created the world's first museum dedicated completely to potato chips in Bruges, Belgium.

'Frietmuseum' was set up by Eddy Van Belle and son Cedric in Bruges' oldest building, the 14th century gothic Saaihalle, the Daily Star reported.

The museum showcases the history of the potato, while showing off a range of exhibits including ancient potato cutters and peelers, as well as the Belgium production of fries.

Belle said that over the years, fries have become known world wide and enjoyed by adults and children in practically all countries, and so they are proud that they actually originated from Belgium.

This is why it is not only normal, but absolutely necessary that the first potato fry museum should be opened in Belgium, Belle added.
